Nara Lokesh, national general secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), was detained on Sunday morning as he was on his way to Palasa to comfort TDP leaders and activists who had allegedly been harassed by Minister for Animal Husbandry Sidiri Appala Raju and his supporters. Before being taken into custody beside a highway in the Srikakulam district, TDP MLC Lokesh reportedly lashed out at the police for their actions. Nara Lokesh has warned the police, "Don't Touch Me," and asked that they act appropriately to regain the same. Nara Lokesh was reportedly taken to the Ranasthalam Police Station.
