US-based Hindu group endorses Rishi Sunak as next UK PM; Indian diaspora performs 'havan'
Sunak and Truss are engaged in an increasingly intense competition to lead the Tory party. According to two polls, Truss has widened her lead in the contest to become Britain's next leader. In spite of polls showing him trailing his opponent Liz Truss, the Indian diaspora in the UK organised a 'havan' to celebrate Rishi Sunak's triumph.
Sunak has received the endorsement of a Hindu organisation with a US presence (the Republican Hindu Coalition). They asserted that Sunak upholds morals and ideals and urged all conservatives and Hindus to back him wholeheartedly in his bid to succeed David Cameron as the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
