Meenakshi, an Indian cyclist, was hurt terribly during the women's 10 km scratch event at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022. Meenakshi first fell off of her bike and tumbled down the road. Then Bryony Botha of New Zealand lost her balance and accidentally ran her bicycle over Meenakshi. After that, medical personnel arrived at the scene to assess the bikers' condition. After that, neither rider competed in another race. On social media, a video of Meenakshi's crash has gone viral. After Matt Walls of England crashed his bike, there has been another collision at the Lee Valley Velo Park in the past two days.
