Sravana Bhargavi is currently embroiled in controversy as a result of the release of a brand-new song that is a cover of Annamacharya's sankeerthana "Okapari Kokapari." One of the Annamayya Trust members called the singer and asked her to remove the song since it was offensive and denigrated the Annamayya keerthana. The singer insisted there was no need to remove the video because she did not perceive any obscenity in the song. The followers of Annamayya and their adherents disapproved of this video. They took issue with Sravana's appearance and mannerisms in the video. They claim that by doing so, she disregarded Annamayya.
