The floods in the Godavari region of Telangana, according to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao(KCR), were caused by a cloudburst that was possibly a plot orchestrated by other countries. He presented this conspiracy notion on Sunday to residents of Bhadrachalam town who were compelled to take refuge in relief shelters because of the overflowing Godavari river. After visiting the flood-stricken Bhadrachalam town in the Bhadradri-Kothagudem district, CM KCR spoke to reporters and declared that Rs 1,000 crore would be allocated as part of a rehabilitation plan for the temple town to construct highland colonies as a long-term solution to the flood danger. KCR's Cloudbursts remarks, though, were swiftly criticised by the BJP and Congress. Telangana BJP president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar responded to KCR's remarks on the cloudbursts by calling them the 'joke of the century.'
