Suspected Monkeypox in Andhra Pradesh, Dubai returnee shows symptoms

A scare was created by the first suspected case of monkeypox in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. When the child returned from Dubai with her family, it was discovered that she had skin rashes. The Old Government General Hospital in Vijayawada received a referral for the suspected illness. The National Institute of Virology in Pune received the samples. The youngster was kept in a government hospital where her health was being monitored. The child's family was kept in isolation, and samples from them were sent to Pune for testing.


On July 15, Kerala, India, announced the country's first case of monkeypox. A hospitalised infected person who had recently returned from abroad tested positive for the disease.
