The Rajya Sabha Secretariat issued a circular on Friday outlawing holding protests, dharnas, fasts, or religious celebrations within the grounds of Parliament House. The bulletin said that members were not permitted to hold religious ceremonies, hold dharnas, go on strikes, or hold other protests within the Parliament House's grounds. Before the Monsoon Session, which starts on July 18, the Lok Sabha Secretariat published a booklet with a list of the terms and expressions that will be regarded as impermissible in both Houses of Parliament. This sparked outrage from the opposition parties. Jairam Ramesh, the general secretary of the Congress and main whip of the party in the Rajya Sabha, attacked the administration on Twitter.
