There are more and more candidates vying to succeed Boris Johnson, the outgoing British Prime Minister. Rishi Sunak, who is of Indian descent, is one of the nine participants already; two more recently joined the roster. Deputy Minister Rahman Chisti and British Foreign Minister Liz Truss both declared their intention to contest. Chisti is originally from Pakistan. Former health secretary Sajid Javid, who is also of Pakistani ancestry, has already declared his candidacy. Due to a number of charges, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently announced his resignation. However, he insisted that he would stay in office until the election of a new leader in October.
