On Tuesday evening, the BJP-led NDA named Droupadi Murmu as its Presidential candidate. Officials say the Centre granted NDA presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu 'Z plus' security cover of CRPF commandos on Wednesday. According to reports, the armed squad took over Draupadi Murmu's (64) protection on Wednesday morning. The 'Z +' security coverage is the Central government's second-highest level of security protection. Droupadi Murmu, the first woman Governor of Jharkhand, began her political career in 1997 as a councillor in Rairangpur Nagar Panchayat and ascended through the ranks to become a minister in the Odisha government in 2000 and, later, the Governor of Jharkhand.
