Renuka Chowdhury, the Congress politician, has been accused with assaulting a public servant after her act of grabbing a cop by the collar was caught on camera at the party's pan-India rally against the questioning of Gandhis in the National Herald Case. A case was brought against her under IPC sections 151, 140, 147, 149, 341, and 353 (assault or criminal force to prevent a public officer from doing his duties). In response to the charge, the former Congress MP said she is ready to face it legally and defended herself by saying, 'I don't have anything against that young man. He never did anything to me. I was losing balance and I held on. If you keep moving, I will have to hold to stabilise myself as we were being pushed and harassed from the back.'
