Kiran Bedi, the former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, apologised after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused her of offending Sikhs during a book launch event in Chennai. The charges emerged after a video of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Bedi allegedly making a indecent joke at the cost of the Sikh community at an event to promote the launch of her new book 'Fearless Governance' went viral on social media on Monday. "I have the highest regard for my community," 'Bedi tweeted, seeking pardon. I am a Baba Nanak Dev ji devotee. I apologise and ask for pardon. I'm the last person who wants to hurt someone. I believe in doing good deeds and being kind to others.'
