The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has urged citizens not to share duplicates of their Aadhaar cards with any organisations, citing the possibility of fraud. The organization has recommended using masked Aadhaar, which shows only the last four digits of the Aadhaar number and can be downloaded from the UIDAI's official website. "Only companies that have secured a User License from the UIDAI can use Aadhaar for proving a person's identity." Private enterprises that are not licenced, like as hotels or movie theatres, are not permitted to acquire or maintain copies of Aadhaar cards. It is a violation of the Aadhaar Act 2016.
