Agra: The officials of the Archaeological Survey of India asserted that the records showed that there is no presence of idols in the rooms of the Taj Mahal. Speaking to the media, they said that the 22 rooms in the basement of the Taj Mahal are not closed permanently and added that they were opened during recent conservation work. ASI official said that the restoration work was completed just three months ago and various records showed no existence of any idol. It is stated that the rooms were closed to the public due to security and safety reasons. It is known that a petition was filed in the court seeking to unlock the 22 closed rooms in the basement of the Taj Mahal.
