On Thursday, the Andhra Pradesh High Court ordered the state administration to provide a status report on the work done in Amravati, the state capital. The government was accused of not deliberately enforcing the High Court's decision on Amravati. The farmers' contempt of court suit was heard before the bench. On behalf of the farmers, lawyer Unnam Muralidhar said that the execution of the capital decision was being postponed under the guise of a lack of funds. Following the hearing of these arguments, the tribunal sought a status report from the government and deferred the next hearing.
