Ever since her top aides met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati held a press conference, accusing the Samajwadi Party of spreading rumours that she wanted to become President of India, adding that she aspires to be the state's Chief Minister again and, eventually, Prime Minister because she does not want a comfortable life but one of struggle. Mayawati went on to say that she is dedicated to realising the dreams and values of Bhimrao Ambedkar and BSP founder Kanshi Ram. 'I am fighting for the empowerment and upliftment of the underprivileged and I can strive for the betterment of the underprivileged communities by becoming chief minister or prime minister, but not president.' Mayawati stated.
