At the 80th annual Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Awards event in Mumbai on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi got the first Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award for his selfless commitment to the society and nation. Modi, who had been in Jammu and Kashmir, left for Mumbai and arrived at 4.45 p.m. in Maharashtra's capital city. In his acceptance speech, Modi stated that he dedicates this award to all inhabitants of the country. The Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award was established in memory and honour of great vocalist Lata Mangeshkar, lovingly known as Lata didi, who passed away on February 6 at the age of 92.
