After multiple delays owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, director SS Rajamouli's epic was ultimately released in theatres on March 25. On its first day, the SS Rajamouli film smashed the record for the greatest international collection by an Indian film. According to trade reports, SS Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR has opened quite strongly, collecting Rs 257 crore internationally on its release day. This includes profits of Rs 120 crore from Andhra and Telangana alone, as well as claimed earnings of Rs 78 crore from outside the country. The northern regions alone contributed Rs 19 crore from the Hindi dubbed version of the film. As a result, it has the best opening day performance of any Indian film in history. In fact, it outperformed Rajamouli's last movie, Baahubali: The Conclusion.
