During a brief discussion on the Polavaram project's construction status as part of the AP assembly sessions, CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that there was no question of lowering the Polavaram project's height. In response to charges that the project's height has been reduced, YS Jagan poked fun at previous Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, claiming that it was the latter's height that had been reduced, not the project's. Thumping on the benches, party members agreed to CM Jagan's version in the Assembly. He slammed the opposition parties for launching a smear campaign against the administration over the project's development.
