Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and South Korean Prime Minister Kim Jong Un jointly launched the suspension bridge connecting Europe and Asia's shores. According to sources, the world's longest suspension bridge, which spans the Dardanelles Strait, reduces travel time between Asia and Europe to six minutes. The $2.8 billion Canakkale Bridge, built by a combination of Turkish and South Korean enterprises in 1915, spans 2.023 kilometres between its towers, which are painted in the Turkish flag's red and white colours. It is longer than the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in Japan, which held the previous record.
