Pakistan Denies Involvement in Pahalgam Attack, Blames Indian Unrest
On Tuesday, a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, located in Jammu and Kashmir, resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists. Pakistan responded to the incident on Wednesday, stating that it had no involvement in the attack and reiterated its stance against all forms of terrorism.

Khawaja Asif, the Defence Minister of Pakistan, clarified that his country had no connection to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. He emphasized that Pakistan opposes all forms of terrorism. Asif alleged that the attack was a consequence of internal unrest within India.

He further stated that the Indian central government is facing opposition from Nagaland to Kashmir, and noted that riots are occurring in Manipur. According to Asif, the domestic conditions in these regions might have led to the Pahalgam incident. He claimed that protests are ongoing in Nagaland, Manipur, Kashmir, and Chhattisgarh against the central government and alleged that many people have been subjected to government oppression, which, he suggested, could be a reason behind the attack.

Asif stressed that Pakistan does not support terrorism and condemned targeting of civilians by terrorists. “We do not support terrorism in any form. We have no doubts about our stance on this,” he said. However, he alleged that the Indian government conveniently targets Pakistan whenever it faces domestic challenges.
