AP Government Suspends Former CID Chief PV Sunil Kumar for Violating Service Rules
The Andhra Pradesh government has suspended former CID Chief PV Sunil Kumar for allegedly violating service rules. The suspension order was issued on Sunday after an inquiry found that he had traveled abroad without obtaining prior approval.

During his tenure as the CID Chief, PV Sunil Kumar reportedly undertook multiple foreign trips without proper authorization. While he had obtained permission for a visit to Georgia, sources indicate that he traveled to several other countries, including Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates, without seeking government approval.

The state government had assigned a committee led by Sisodia to investigate these allegations. The inquiry concluded that PV Sunil Kumar had acted in violation of the Code of Conduct, leading to his suspension.

In addition to unauthorized foreign travel, PV Sunil Kumar is also facing other allegations. He has been accused of involvement in the alleged custodial harassment of Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, the current Deputy Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly. Furthermore, there are claims that in the past, he engaged in illegal activities, including ordering the detention of individuals and directing officials to use third-degree interrogation methods.
