Hyderabad Kidney Racket: Telangana Medical Council Expresses Outrage
Hyderabad police recently exposed a kidney racket operating out of Alakananda Super Specialty Hospital in the Saroor Nagar division. Authorities have shifted two patients and kidney donors involved in the illegal transplant operations to Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad for medical care.

The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) has expressed serious outrage over this illegal kidney transplantation racket and has vowed to take action against the responsible medical practitioners. The council announced that it has taken suo motu cognizance of the incident and will conduct an in-depth investigation. TGMC Chairman Dr. Mahesh Kumar criticized the hospital's doctors for performing unauthorized kidney transplant surgeries.

Speaking on the issue, TGMC Vice Chairman Dr. Srinivas emphasized that the council holds judiciary-like powers to address such violations. He stated that with the cooperation of the government and police, the council's Ethical and Malpractices Committee will investigate the involvement of medical practitioners in this case and take strict action against those found guilty.

Public Relations Committee Chairman Dr. Naresh Kumar highlighted that conducting kidney transplants without government approval, engaging in gender determination tests, and promoting fake medical practitioners are illegal activities. He added that the council is prepared to permanently revoke the licenses of any doctors proven to be involved in these unlawful acts.
