Hyd: Kashaf arrested after his remarks against Raja Singh went viral on social media

Hyderabad, August 30: Cops on Tuesday arrested civil rights activist Syed Quadri alias Kashaf under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act for inciting hatred between Hindus and Muslims. He was produced before concerned judge and shifted him to Chanchalguda prison on court orders. Earlier, Kashaf posted a video on social media against suspended BJP MLA Raja Singh.

Supporters of Raja Singh pelted stones on cops and damaged police vehicles under the limits of Moghalpura, Shahinayathgunj, Bhavani Nagar and Hussaini Alam police stations. A cab driver and staff working in a hotel injured in stone pelting incidents.

Few days ago, Kashaf and his supporters staged a dharna in front of the Hyderabad Police Commissioner’s office demanding to arrest Raja Singh immediately after he posted a video on YouTube with controversial comments against Prophet Muhammad. He was taken into custody by police. However, Kashaf secured bail before he was lodged in a jail.
