TPCC chief Revanth placed under house arrest

TPCC president Revanth Reddy on Thursday was placed under house arrest by police. All the roads leading to the house of Revanth were barricaded and hundreds of cops were deployed outside the residence of the Telangana Congress chief.

Revanth gave a call to the Congress leaders and workers to gate-crash the Vidyut Soudha and the office of the Civil Supplies Commissioner in Hyderabad, to protest against the hike in fuel and cooking gas prices, and the negligence of state and central governments for not purchasing the food grains from farmers.

He stated that the TRS and Modi governments are collecting Rs 35 and Rs 30 respectively on petrol and diesel. Hike in fuel rates is increasing prices of essential commodities, putting an additional burden on common people, he mentioned. Revanth has demanded the KCR government and Centre to reduce the prices of fuel. The other Telangana Congress leaders were also put under house arrest.
