Sidhu's daughter vows not to marry till her father wins

Amritsar (Punjab): The ruling Congress party in Punjab was mired in internal politics. The differences between Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and PCC chief Nav Jyot Singh Sidhu are well known. Against this backdrop, Sidhu's daughter Rabia made insidious remarks at Channi. She lauded her father Sidhu for working for the Congress party in Punjab for the past 14 years and striving to transform Punjab into an ideal state.

However, she made an indirect dig at Punjab CM candidate Channi alleging that he was corrupt. If Channi comes from a poor family, how can he have Rs 133 crore in his bank account, she questioned? She made it clear that she would not marry until her father Sidhu won the elections. She exuded confidence that her father will win with a huge victory in the Assembly elections.

Rabia commented that the Congress high command has declared Channi as the CM candidate due to pressure, however, she said (Sidhu) "her father being an honest man nobody can stop him". She is campaigning in the Amritsar (East) constituency in support of her father. Elections will be held here on February 20.
