Case against `Sakshi' in Rajahmundry

The Rajahmundry police have registered cases under Sections 153A and Section 500 of the Indian Penal Code against `Sakshi' newspaper for publishing stories and pictures that allegedly sought to create enmity between people and also for defamation. The newspaper published the stories and pictures while the Kapu supremo Mudragada Padmanabham's fast-unto-death was going on. The case was registered following a complaint in this regard. The complaint was lodged in Three Town police station. The police said the complaint was that a deliberate attempt was made to create enmity between people and also objectionable material was published. The police said they would investigate the matter and also seek legal opinion in the case.
