EFLU Professor gets 3-year jail term in sexual harassment case
Hyderabad, July 8: The Nampally Women’s Court here sentenced English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) Professor Rajat Kumar Mohanty to three-year jail term for sexually abusing a 26-year old female PhD scholar. Mohanty is working as faculty in Linguistics and Phonetics Department.Besides this the court has also imposed fine. The Professor who is also the member of her doctoral committee allegedly called her to the university guest house to discuss about the research work. The accused began to talk vulgarly and when the victim object to it, he forcibly hugged and kissed her. The victim escaped and lodged a complaint at Osmania University police station.
