Nara Lokesh: ‘Devils Tried to Destroy the Divine Capital of Amaravati’
Andhra Pradesh IT and Human Resources Minister Nara Lokesh announced on Friday that development work in the state capital, Amaravati, has resumed at "jet speed" since the new coalition government took office.

Speaking at a foundation stone-laying ceremony for the headquarters of 15 banks and insurance companies in Amaravati’s Financial District, Lokesh stated that these institutions are investing ₹1334 crore to establish their offices. This new 'Bank Street' is envisioned as a central hub for financial transactions across the state.

During the event, Lokesh strongly criticized the previous administration. "Devils tried to destroy the divine capital of Amaravati," he alleged, accusing the former government of attempting to ruin the region with its "three-capital" plan. He also claimed that a palace was built for one individual at a cost of ₹450 crore.

Nara Lokesh praised the farmers who protested under the "One State, One Capital" slogan, saying they persevered despite facing hardships. He asserted that stopping the development of the capital, a project for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone, is not as simple as "flipping a switch in someone's house."

The minister extended special thanks to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for her support towards the Polavaram and Amaravati projects, the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, and for her role in bringing a Google data center to Visakhapatnam.
