Accused in Tuni Minor Girl Rape Case Found Dead
A man accused in a minor girl rape case that caused a sensation in Tuni, Kakinada district, has died by suicide. The accused, identified as 62-year-old Tatika Narayana Rao, ended his life on Wednesday midnight while being taken to court.

According to police reports, Narayana Rao was being escorted from the Tuni Rural Police Station to the court when he requested to stop to relieve himself. While the police halted the vehicle on the outskirts of the town, he reportedly jumped into the Komati pond. Despite immediate rescue efforts with the help of local swimmers, his body was later recovered from the pond.

Police sources stated that Narayana Rao had allegedly committed a sexual assault on a girl of the same age as his granddaughter. The victim, a student at a Gurukula school, was reportedly approached by Narayana Rao under the pretext of buying her food and speaking kindly to her. He allegedly convinced the school staff that he was her grandfather.

On Tuesday, claiming that the girl was unwell and needed medical attention, he took her out of the school and allegedly raped her in an orchard near Thondangi. The incident came to light when a video of the assault was recorded and circulated on social media, prompting a swift and serious response from the state government.

Following the revelation, the girl’s family members and local residents reportedly attacked Narayana Rao. Police then registered a case and arrested him. However, while being transported to court, he took his own life.

The police have registered a case regarding the suicide and shifted the body to the Tuni Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. The incident has caused widespread shock and unrest in Tuni and surrounding areas.
