Yanamala Krishnudu Resigns from TDP, Prepares to Join YSRCP

Yanamala Krishnudu, the brother of senior TDP leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, has resigned from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Having been a part of the TDP for over four decades, Krishnudu announced his resignation today. He stated that he fought for TDP for 42 years but was sidelined by some within the party with malicious intent. Despite the pain, he felt that leaving the party was unavoidable under the circumstances. He also revealed that he is joining the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) following an invitation from its chief, Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The Yanamala brothers have been significant figures in the TDP in Kakinada district. For some time, there have been known differences between the former Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and his brother Krishnudu. Krishnudu, who contested and lost the elections from Tuni constituency in both 2014 and 2019, found himself further sidelined this year as the Tuni ticket was given to Ramakrishnudu’s daughter, Divya, by the TDP high command. This move seemingly cemented Krishnudu's decision to leave the TDP.
