Digi Yatra Services to be Launched at Visakhapatnam Airport Soon

The introduction of Digi Yatra services at Visakhapatnam Airport is set to simplify the travel process for passengers. These services, aimed at facilitating easier movement through airports, are expected to be available at Visakhapatnam as well as 14 other airports by the end of April, according to Suresh Khadakbhavi, CEO of the Digi Yatra Foundation. The Foundation has been making significant upgrades to the Digi Yatra system, expanding its availability to include airports in Chennai, Coimbatore, Srinagar, Trivandrum, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dabolim, Indore, Mangalore, Patna, Raipur, and Ranchi. Discussions are also underway to extend these services to international travelers.

One of the key features of Digi Yatra is the use of facial recognition technology, which allows passengers to proceed through airport checkpoints with ease. Currently, this service is operational at 14 airports across India, including Hyderabad, benefiting nearly 5 million users. Despite concerns about personal data security, the CEO has assured that the data remains secure on the passengers' mobile devices without raising any doubts about its safety.
