Vijaya Sai, Beeda Mastan, Vijayendra Prasad take oath as Rajya Sabha MPs

Delhi, July 18: On the first day of monsoon session of the Parliament, newly nominated YSRCP MPs V. Vijaya Sai Reddy, Beeda Mastan Rao and Tollywood writer K V Vijayendra Prasad took oath as Rajya Sabha members in the presence of Rajya Sabha chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu here on Monday. Vijaya Sai took oath in Telugu whereas Mastan and Prasad in English.
 
Meanwhile, the Upper House was adjourned for Tuesday as the Congress members stormed into well and protested over rise in prices of essential commodities and GST hike. 
 
Venkaiah said that he is adjourning the house because of disturbance by Opposition MPs and also to facilitate Rajya Sabha MPs to cast their votes in presidential elections. Even, Lok Sabha was also adjourned for the day so that MPs can exercise their right to vote in presidential polls.  
 
Earlier, the Rajya Sabha offered condolences over deaths of former Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo and ex-UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed.
