BJP to pick Presidential candidate in Parliamentary Board meeting today

New Delhi: BJP to pick Presidential candidate in Parliamentary Board meeting on Tuesday evening. Speculations continue on the NDA candidate in the Presidential election. The meeting of top BJP leaders with Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu ahead of the BJP Parliamentary Board meeting raised many eyebrows.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP National president JP Nadda, called on Venkaiah Naidu. Meanwhile, the names of Chhattisgarh Governor Anasuya Uyike and National Security Adviser Ajit Dhoval are being heard in the NDA presidential candidate race.

Anasuya Uike from Madhya Pradesh belongs to a tribal community. She has been serving as the Governor of Chhattisgarh since July 2019. If Ajit Dhoval is picked up as the Presidential candidate, it seems that Anasuya Uyike will be the Vice-President candidate.

Similarly, the name of Rajya Sabha member Vinay Sahastra Buddha is also heard in the Vice-Presidential race. Rumours are rife over Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi being appointed as the Governor of Chhattisgarh if Anasuya is selected either as the Presidential or Vice-Presidential nominee.
