Election schedule for 57 Rajya Sabha seats announced; Telangana 2, AP 4

Delhi, May 12: The Election Commission of India on Thursday announced poll schedule for 57 Rajya Sabha seats in 15 states. Notification would be released on May 24 and last date for receiving nominations is May 31. The EC decided to conduct polling on June 10.
 
From Telangana, tenure of Captain V. Lakshmikantha Rao and D. Srinivas will be ending on June 29. Political analysts are saying that TRS chief and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao may give chance to news faces. 
 
Four Rajya Sabha seats have fallen vacant in Andhra Pradesh as tenure of existing members will be ending on June 21. Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy may continue V. Vijayasai Reddy as Rajya Sabha member one more term. The other three are TG Venkatesh, Sujana Chowdary, and Suresh Prabhu. The EC will fill 11 seats to Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh. Followed by, six each to Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
