Former TDP minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy passes away at 73

Hyderabad, May 6: Former minister and senior TDP leader Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy on Friday died of heart attack at Apollo Hospitals here while undergoing treatment. The 73-year-old had won as MLA consecutively for five times from Srikalahasti Assembly constituency. He served as Minister for Environment and Forests from 2014 to 2017. However, his son Sudheer Reddy had contested from Srikalahasti in 2019. 
 
Leaders of various political parties expressed shock over the demise of the TDP politician. Recently, TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu had visited the residence of Bojjala and consoled him. 
 
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao also expressed grief after hearing the news of Bojjala’s death. Recalling his association with him, KCR said that he lost a dear friend in politics. He extended his condolences to the bereaved family members of Bojjala. In January 2020, the Telangana CM visited the residence of Gopalakrishna in Hyderabad on knowing that he was suffering from illness.
