Heartbroken Mother Stopped at Attari Border as Children Cross into Pakistan
A heart-wrenching incident unfolded at the Attari border, where a mother’s anguish over being separated from her children moved onlookers to tears. A woman named Rukhsar was stopped at the India-Pakistan border due to passport issues, while her four children managed to enter Pakistan. The emotional distress of being apart from her children has left Rukhsar devastated.

Rukhsar is an Indian citizen, while her husband and four children hold Pakistani citizenship. After nearly 13 years, Rukhsar recently visited her mother in Delhi. Following this reunion, she proceeded to the Attari border to return to her family in Pakistan. However, while Rukhsar holds an Indian passport, her children possess Pakistani passports. As a result, Pakistani authorities allowed the children to enter the country with their father, but denied Rukhsar entry due to her Indian passport.

Consequently, Rukhsar had to remain at the border, separated from her four children, including her youngest daughter who is just three years old. Witnessing her children cross the border while she was left behind has left her in deep anguish.

"I have four children. My youngest daughter is only three years old. They all went to Pakistan with their father. How can my children stay without their mother? Don’t they need me to look after them? I must be with my children," Rukhsar expressed, overwhelmed with grief.

"I came to see my mother after thirteen years. But now I’m stuck at the border like this. My children are in Pakistan. I cannot stay away from them. Please, send me to Pakistan to be with my children and my husband. I want to take care of them," she pleaded to the Indian government.
