Pahalgam Attack: US Intelligence Chief Tulsi Gabbard Pledges Support to India
The United States has expressed deep shock over the recent horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, located in Jammu and Kashmir. Offering condolences to the victims, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard wrote a letter to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In her letter, Tulsi Gabbard stated that the United States stands in solidarity with India following this heinous Islamist terrorist attack, which specifically targeted Hindus. She assured full support from Washington in India's pursuit of the perpetrators behind this attack.
“We will stand with you and support you as you hunt down those responsible for this heinous attack,” Tulsi Gabbard affirmed in her message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It has emerged that the terrorists involved in this attack had links to Pakistan and the Pakistan-administered territories. The Resistance Front (TRF), a Pakistan-backed faction affiliated with the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the assault.
Global Condemnation of the Attack
Several world leaders, including United States President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, strongly condemned the attack through phone calls and social media posts. They expressed clear support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Donald Trump stated, “The United States strongly supports Prime Minister Modi’s efforts following the Pahalgam terrorist attack.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin said, “We hope the masterminds and perpetrators of the attack will face due punishment,” while reiterating Russia’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Indian partners in all forms of counter-terrorism.
The attack also drew widespread condemnation from the Islamic world. Countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, and Jordan expressed solidarity and support for India. Notably, the Pahalgam attack took place while Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Leaders from the United Kingdom, Australia, China, Japan, and Sri Lanka also conveyed their condolences and support to the people of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing their distress over the incident.
