SRH Triumphs Over CSK in Chennai, Boosts Points Table Position

Sunrisers Hyderabad delivered a remarkable performance in the IPL 2025 season match held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. In the match played on Friday, Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a comfortable five-wicket victory over hosts Chennai Super Kings. Demonstrating all-round excellence in both bowling and batting, Sunrisers handed Chennai a defeat on their home ground.

After winning the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad opted to bowl and successfully restricted Chennai Super Kings. Chennai were bowled out for 154 runs in 19.5 overs, falling short of completing their allotted 20 overs. Among the Hyderabad bowlers, Harshal Patel stood out with exceptional bowling figures of 4 wickets for 28 runs, playing a pivotal role in dismantling Chennai’s innings.

Chasing a target of 155 runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad had an early setback when Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for a duck. However, Ishan Kishan stabilized the innings with a responsible knock of 44 runs off 34 balls, which included five boundaries and one six. Travis Head contributed a modest 19 runs. Despite quick dismissals of Heinrich Klaasen (7) and Aniket Verma (19), Kamindu Mendis (32 not out off 22 balls with three fours) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (19 not out off 13 balls with two fours) stayed unbeaten to guide the team to victory. Sunrisers chased down the target in 18.4 overs, losing five wickets and with eight balls to spare.

For Chennai, Noor Ahmad claimed two wickets, while Khaleel Ahmad, Anshul Kamboj, and Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket each.

With this win, Sunrisers Hyderabad improved their standing on the points table. The defeat on their home ground left Chennai fans disappointed.
