Centre comes to rescue of power-starving AP, Telangana

Hyderabad, March 24, 2015: Coming to the rescue of power-starving AP and Telangana, Central Electricity Authority has announced that it would supply 693 MW of power to AP, Telangana and Kerala from April 1 onward. From April , AP will get 304 MW and Telangana 222 MW of power while the rest will go to Kerala. This arrangement will be in force till September end and from October 1, out of the 693 MW of power ,374 MW will be supplied to Telangana and the rest to Kerala till March 31, 2016. With Centre deciding to supply power to AP and Telangana on a daily basis, people of the two states can have a sigh of relive and may escape the power cuts in this summer season. Central Electricity Authority has got this surplus power after Delhi Government had given up its share in the power generation at the Jhajjir thermal power plant in Haryana.
