World's Largest Traffic Jam: Vehicles Stranded for 300 Kilometers
Stranded commuters are facing severe difficulties, unable to move forward or turn back. Many expressed distress over hunger and exhaustion. "The traffic hasn’t moved for hours, and Prayagraj is still 300 kilometers away," said one traveler. In light of the situation, authorities have decided to close Sangam Railway Station until the coming Friday to manage the crowd.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the Uttar Pradesh government, blaming its failure for the hardships faced by devotees traveling to the Kumbh Mela. Sharing a video of the traffic jam, he accused Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of incompetence and demanded urgent measures to clear the congestion. "This traffic jam is proof of the Yogi government’s mismanagement of the Kumbh Mela," he alleged.
The heavy traffic has disrupted the supply of essential commodities, including food grains, vegetables, medicines, petrol, and diesel. With no access to food and rest, many pilgrims are reportedly experiencing fatigue and distress.
