Virat Kohli Practices for Ranji Trophy, Struggles Against Navdeep Saini’s Bowling
Indian cricket star Virat Kohli is preparing for his return to the Ranji Trophy after more than a decade. During a net practice session at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi, Kohli faced difficulties against the bowling of Navdeep Saini and Siddhant Sharma. Both bowlers, who are currently out of the Indian team, posed a challenge to Kohli, making it difficult for him to find his rhythm.
Kohli, who last played in the Ranji Trophy in 2012, practiced against five bowlers—Mani Grewal, Navdeep Saini, Rahul Gehlot, Siddhant Sharma, and Vivek Gulshan—for about 25 minutes. During this session, he struggled to counter their deliveries effectively.
Despite the initial difficulties, Kohli later managed to play a few shots with confidence. Before facing the pacers, he had a 30-minute batting session against three spinners—Harsh Tyagi (left-arm), Sumit Mathur (left-arm), and Shivam (right-arm).
Kohli recently had a poor run in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, failing to make a significant impact. In the upcoming Ranji Trophy, he will be representing Delhi.
