Kejriwal Thanks Mamata Banerjee for Supporting AAP in Delhi Assembly Polls
The Delhi Assembly election schedule has already been released, with the official notification expected the day after tomorrow. Elections are slated to take place in the first week of next month. Interestingly, despite being part of the INDIA alliance, both Congress and AAP are contesting the Delhi elections separately and have been exchanging sharp criticisms. Although they united to challenge the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections, they are now fielding candidates independently.
Given the INDIA alliance's internal dynamics, the expression of support by member parties has gained significant attention. Apart from TMC, other INDIA alliance members such as the Samajwadi Party and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) have also extended their support to AAP.
Delhi has 70 assembly constituencies, and AAP has been in power since 2015. With support from key regional players, AAP appears to be garnering crucial backing ahead of the polls.
