KCR announces hefty hike of salaries for public representatives

Hyderabad, March 13, 2015: In order to keep the public representatives off corruption and ensure they get busy in attending to people's issues, Telangana Chief Minister KCR has announced hefty increase of salaries for all of them from Councillors to ZP Chairman. As per the announcement he made in the assembly on Friday, a Zilla Parishad chairman will henceforth get a monthly salary of Rs. 1 lakh as against a meager Rs. 7500 now, while a Corporation Mayor will get Rs. 50,000. The following are the present and new salaries of the public representatives. The new salaries will come into force from April 1. ZPTC members: Rs. 2250 / : Rs.10,000 Mandal president : Rs.1500 / Rs.10,000 MPTC members : Rs.750 / Rs.5000 Village Panchayat President: Rs.1000 -1500 / Rs.5000 Mayor : Rs.14, 000 /Rs.50,000 Deputy Mayor: Rs.8000 /Rs.25, 000 Corporators; Rs.4000 / Rs.6000 Muncipal chairpersons (special grade):Rs.10,000 /Rs.15,000
