Ravichandran Ashwin Announces Retirement from International Cricket

India’s celebrated spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has announced his retirement from international cricket. He made the announcement during a press conference after the conclusion of the third Test against Australia. A heartfelt video of Ashwin sharing an emotional moment with Virat Kohli in the dressing room surfaced online prior to the official announcement. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also confirmed Ashwin’s retirement on social media, praising his exceptional career as an all-rounder in international cricket.

The 38-year-old Ashwin made his Test debut against the West Indies in 2011 and played his first One-Day International (ODI) against Sri Lanka in 2010. In 105 Test matches, he scored 3,474 runs and claimed 536 wickets. His batting record includes six centuries and 14 half-centuries. Ashwin took five-wicket hauls 37 times and achieved 10-wicket match hauls on eight occasions in Test cricket.

In ODIs, he played 116 matches, scoring 707 runs and taking 156 wickets. In the T20 format, he participated in 65 matches, securing 72 wickets and scoring 154 runs.
