Vinod Kambli Agrees to Kapil Dev’s Rehabilitation Support

Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli has accepted a rehabilitation offer from cricket legend Kapil Dev. Facing financial struggles and health issues, Kambli recently received a supportive proposal from India’s 1983 World Cup-winning team, led by Kapil Dev, to help him regain stability. Kapil Dev announced the team’s readiness to assist Kambli if he agreed to the offer.

Responding positively, Kambli expressed gratitude, emphasizing that as long as his family stands by him, he fears nothing. He shared this sentiment during a memorial event in Mumbai honoring his childhood coach Ramakant Achrekar, attended by several cricketers, including Sachin Tendulkar.

A viral video from the event showed an emotional Kambli holding Tendulkar's hand and refusing to let go, highlighting his fragile state. In an earlier video, Kambli appeared visibly weak and struggled to walk, further raising concerns about his well-being.

Kambli has been managing life with limited financial resources, relying solely on a ₹30,000 monthly pension from the BCCI to support his family, including two children.

Kapil Dev, addressing Kambli’s health and financial struggles, reiterated the team's willingness to support him. Cricket icon Sunil Gavaskar also extended his readiness to help. Speaking to a YouTube channel, Kambli affirmed his acceptance of the rehabilitation program, expressing determination to complete the process and rebuild his life.
