Cherry’s airlines to take off from April
Hyderabad, Feb 14: Telugu film actor Ram Charan Teja promoted Turbo Megha Airways Private Limited (TMAPL) is awaiting permissions from the Director General of Civil Aviation to start its operations from April. The airline, which is planning to initially operate a 72-seater ATR aircraft, will be covering Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions in the first phase. The airline is primarily aimed at economy passengers and pilgrims travelling to destinations like Vijayawada and Tirupati. TMAPL's subsidary, Turbo Aviation Corporation (TAC), is to start non-scheduled services of nine-seater jets from Vijayawada. These services will be targeting executive class. Speaking to press persons here, TAC's managing director Vankayalapati Umesh said, “We are planning to start if all permissions from the Director General of Civil Aviation are obtained by the first week of April. TMAPL is planning flights to Tirupati, Hyderabad, Aurangabad, Vijayawada and Rajahmundry. We are operating 72-seater ATR aircraft aimed at the middle class and pilgrims.” He added, “The nine-seater planes are not for schedule operations. We are getting them for non-scheduled operations from Vijayawada.” TMAPL, which was incorporated on March 14, 2013 with Ram Charan and Umesh as promoters, has Turbo Aviation as a susidiary company promoted by Umesh and D. Radha Rani. Sources close to Ram Charan refused to give further details.
