YS Sharmila Lashes Out at PM Modi in Delhi
Not a Single Promise Fulfilled
Sharmila reminded of several assurances given during the state's bifurcation, including special status, Polavaram project, capital construction, Visakhapatnam railway zone, development of Dugarajapatnam port, Kadapa steel plant, and an industrial corridor from Visakhapatnam to Chennai, along with a special economic package for the backward regions of North Andhra and Rayalaseema. She expressed her disappointment over the non-fulfillment of these promises, stating that even the partial completion of some did not significantly benefit Andhra Pradesh.
State Parties Turned Subservient to BJP
Sharmila accused the BJP-led central government of completely neglecting Andhra Pradesh and questioned why regional parties in the state continue to support the BJP despite its betrayal. She criticized state parties for becoming subservient to the BJP and asserted that the Congress Party alone is fighting for the rights of the people of Andhra Pradesh, vowing to continue the struggle until the state's rights are secured.
The Fight Will Go On
She mentioned meeting NCP chief Sharad Pawar and informed that she would write to leaders of various parties about the injustices meted out to Andhra Pradesh by the BJP. Letters would also be sent to Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, she added. Sharmila expressed optimism in democracy and vowed to persist in the fight until the division promises are fulfilled.
