Google Inc to open 'own' campus in Hyd

Hyderabad, Dec 21: Telangana IT, Electronics and Communications Secretary Harpreet Singh said that Internet giant Google Inc was planning to open its own 'permanent and bigger' campus in Hyderabad. He also said the search engine major will soon sign an MoU with the Telangana government to take forward the venture. Staying that the Hyderabad campus will be their third campus outside of US and the UK, Harpreet Singh said Google at present operates from a rented premises in Hyderabad. Declining to give further details on the proposed venture, Harpreet Singh said a press conference will soon be held on the issue. Companies like Airtel, Cisco, a Taiwanese company and Vodafone among others are responding to the expression of interest floated by the government to make Hyderabad a wi-fi enabled city, he said. Referring to software exports from Hyderabad, Singh said they stood at Rs 57,000 crore in the year 2013-14.
