Sidhareddy Takes Over as Literary Academy Chairman
Hyderabad, May.10: Writer Nandini Sidhareddy has taken charge as the first chairman of the Telangana state Literary Academyhere on Wednesday.
Thanking the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Sidhareddy said that his dream of having Literary Academy for Telangana state was realized now. He expressed the belief that he will get the support of the poets and writers even in future. “No doubt, I strived for the sake of Sahitya Academy, but my real strength is poets and writers only”, he said. Making it clear that he will encourage new age poets and writers, Sidhareddy said that research will be taken up in a big way through Sahitya Academy. The World Telugu Mahasabhas would be conducted on a grand note, he added.
Sidhareddy’s mother, family members, government advisor KV Ramanachary, Telangana BC Commission Chairman BS Ramulu, Cultural and Tourism department secretary Burra Venkatesham, MLC Naradasu Laxmana Rao, Library Corporation Chairman Ayachitham Sridhar, Telugu University vice-chancellor Prof SV Sathyanarayana, CMO SD Deshapathi Srinivas, Language, Cultural department director Mamidi Harikrishna, Higher Education Council chairman Papi Reddy and others participated in the event.
