Ground Mission Kakatiya -3 works in 15 days: Harish

Hyderabad, May.9: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said that Mission Kakatiya phase two works should be completed in two weeksof time.  He conducted a video conference from Secretariat on the flagship program of Mission Kakatiya to revive rural lakes and ponds that will boost economy and help improve the lives of the people.
Harish said that 90 per cent of the works of third phase of Mission Kakatiya should be grounded in 15 days. He expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of third phase of works and asked the top officials to conduct surprise visits to the work sites at field level. The officials should make surprise visits and give necessary instructions to the officials and staff on works to expedite he said. Leftover works of the two phases of lakes revival should also be completed avoiding further delay he said. Harish appreciated Adilabad district officials for speedy grounding of the third phase of works and asked to complete repairs of the first phase. The lakes revival at villages will prove handy for the local people as fishermen community get handful of work and food he opined. The Government is taking all steps to overcome water problems in the state. We are constructing barrages at Medigadda, Tupakulagudem, Sundilla and other places to ensure that the water sources are impounded for future use the irrigation minister said. As per Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao vision for all-round development reservoirs are being filled up besides lakes, ponds are getting abundant waters he said.
